Job Summary:
Responsible for dental assisting duties listed in Florida Statutes 466 and Administrative Rules 64B-5, screening and preparing patients for treatment; assisting dentist in treating patients; educating patients; processing instruments; taking and developing radiographs.

Qualifications: 
Education:                              
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Dental Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from an accredited school or training program including.
  • dental radiology required.
  • Successful completion of Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate (EFDA) within 9 months from date of hire.

Experience:                            
  • 2 years’ experience in a dental setting preferred.
  • Must have the ability to effectively use computer software and an electronic health record system.

Certification/Licensure:        
  • Current/valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate (EFDA) within 12 months from date of hire required.
  • Current/valid BLS certification within 30 days from date of hire.

  • Ability to stay positive in stressful situations.
  • Ability to deal professionally with unhappy, fearful patients.
